Station History

Waldo Fewell (N9DZY) became a silent key in the summer of 2003. His wife Evelyn Fewell (N9EBZ) donated their complete amateur radio station to the Sagamore Council. Most of the equipment was new in the late 70's. Some of this equipment is still part of the station, but many items have been replaced with newer equipment.

In 2004 a Victor C. Clark grant was received from the ARRL Foundation. This was used to purchase a new HF Transceiver and make other upgrades.

A permanent home for the station was made possible with the remodel of the Trading Post and Commissioners office in 2005.
