Station use

Anyone with a valid Amateur Radio License may operate this station. It is the operator’s responsibility to use the equipment properly and observer good operating practice. If you do not know how to use something stop and ask for help.

The station may be used by unlicensed individuals for LISTENING ONLY. Before use the unlicensed individuals must receive instructions in the use of the station by a trained operator.

Logging

The station logbook is in the center desk drawer. 

Please fill out the log each time the station is used. It is not necessary to record each contact. However, you will probably want to keep a record of your contacts separately for your own use.  The logbook is intended to keep track of who is using the station, and to communicate information that will help with station maintenance.

Please record:
  • Time and date in UTC time
  • Operator’s name and call sign
  • Names of guests in station
  • Equipment used
  • Notes about equipment performance and maintenance needs.
  • Time off
